Iran is ready for transition to the new version of internet protocol

Circumstances have been prepared and Iran is ready for transition from IPV4 to IPV6.

ICT public relation – Dr. Reza Taghipour the minister of ICT in the dedicated Seminar for Transition to IPV6 said that: according to what international organizations declared, the IPV4 space for internet addresses will be filled up until end of this year and accordingly, the transition to 6th version of numeric addresses is compulsory.
He added: by considering the programs which have been designed and we are in readiness for this transition, we hope this progress done with appropriate speed and in the right time.
 
He mentioned that until the next four years, there is no more internet address with 4th version and asserted: this process must carry out without any interruption in giving services to applicants and considered as a principle in our agenda.
 
Dr. Reza Taghipour believed that creating national data network in Iran causes great changes and asserted that this project will be done with an associated and domestic management and prepares security and stability for protecting private privacy and important data of users.
 
He continued: one of the important tasks in this zone is IP address management that in the new version, addressing comparing with the past is available with more features, security, flexibility and convergence.
 
He with pointing to agenda of all countries for this transition, said: Lebanon is pioneer in this transition and the next places belong to South Korea, Egypt, China, U.S.A and European countries which did their best to accomplish this transition.
The minister with mentioning the other developments on this issue stated that required substructure for inter-network connection is prepared and we have collaborated with internet providers for making this technology accessible for users.
 
Updating the protocols for giving internet services and starting the activity of the websites give services are some of the other efforts in progress, he added.
 
All the people who are responsible and activists in this matter are obliged to cooperate in achieving this goal and asserted that we are hoping with collaborating all organizations and relevant departments, the transition process from IPV4 to IPv6 will be accomplished according to the time schedule.
