According to ICT’s PR report, Zdravko Počivalšek, the Slovenian Economic Development and Technology Minister, stated in his meeting with Dr. Vaezi, the Iranian Communication and Information Technology Minister, that: “Following the visit of the Slovenian Speaker for the Parliament, 45 corporate directors and heads of companies from Slovenia are accompanying our delegation.”
The Slovenian Economy Minister referred to the present low level of relations between Iran and Slovenia, and said: “We are interested in expanding relation through the presence of Slovenian corporations in Iran and the establishment of representative offices.”
He mentioned the opening of a representative office in Tehran just a day before, to represent four Slovenian firms, and included: “Signing two agreement letters regarding energy and economy is the first steps for the establishment of a Joint Economic Commission between two countries.”
The Slovenian Minister expressed that: “To further expand our bilateral cooperation in ICT sector, we are going to prepare for the three proposals presented by the Iranian Communication Minister.”
He further elaborated: “It is my belief that the removal of the sanctions against Iran will open up a new era of political cooperation between two countries, resulting in the creation of a good potential for increasing collaboration.”
The Slovenian Economic Development Minister underscored the Inauguration of the Embassy of Slovenia in Tehran as one of the political programs on the agenda for this year, adding that: “Our companies are export-oriented and interested in cooperating with Iran.”
He concluded by stating the importance of perfect understanding of the Iranian market by both governments and companies, and said: “The establishment of the Joint Economic Commission will act as a new incentive for economic cooperation.”
