According to ICT’s Public Relation department, during this meeting, Dr. Vaezi emphasized on the policies of the government of ‘Wisdom and Hope’ in regard to foreign politics and development of relations with other countries, and said: “The Islamic Republic of Iran is fully prepared to advance all types of relations and collaboration with China in various fields and sectors, especially in communication and information technology.”
He welcomed China’s investment in the ‘Silk Road’ project, saying: “Based on the historical context of the presence of both countries in Silk Road, Iran is fully prepared to cooperate and advance the undertakings in this area.”
The ICT Minister referred to recent investments of the government of ‘Wisdom and Hope’ in the fields of IT and ICT and provision of the required infrastructures in this sector, saying: “Iran welcomes the participation of creditable Chinese companies alongside other local and foreign companies and the creation of a competitive environment among them.”
Vaezi described the importance of information technology in present-day, and its fast pace and growth in the world, and said: “Communication and information technology, as development’s driving force, effects the economy of any country and creates the necessary capacities for growth in any sector of the society.”
He added: “The Ministry of Communication and Information Technology of the I.R. of Iran desires increasing collaboration in the fields of education, research, and also joint investment in IT and ICT sector with the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology of the People's Republic of China.”
Later on, Dr. Vaezi invited his Chinese counterpart to Iran for visiting the latest accomplishments of our country in the fields of industry and technology; he also came to an agreement regarding an MoU in the field of ICT, with the Chinese Ministry of Industry and Technology.
Vaezi remarked that this MoU will be signed during the Chinese Minister of Industry’s visit to Tehran.
In this meeting, Miao Wei, the Chinese Minister of Industry and Information Technology also warmly received Dr. Vaezi’s official invitation, expressing his readiness for visiting Tehran, and said: “Today, the I.R. of Iran plays an effective and important role in the region which cannot be ignored.”
Mentioning some of Iran’s accomplishments, he included: “In recent years, Iran has made good progress in scientific and industrial areas, and we are ready advance our cooperation and relations with your country in various fields, such as education, research, and joint investment in IT and ICT sector.”
He included: “The Chinese government greatly emphasizes funding and financing various programs and projects in Iran.”
At the end of the meeting, both parties agreed to establish a special joint workgroup to follow-up the agreements made in this trip, preparation of the technical document of these agreements, preparing the agenda for the next joint meeting, and making the arrangements for the imminent visit of the Chinese Minister of Industry and Information Technology to Tehran.
