As our PR department reports, at the conclusion of Mr. Yilmaz’s meeting with the ICT Minister, which took place this morning, the Turkish Minister pointed out the importance of signing the Preferential Trade Agreement between two nations as an effective factor in the increasing welfare of the Iranian and Turkish people, saying that: “Last year, the trade volume between Iran and Turkey reached $14 billion, nowhere near what is appropriate to the relationship between our countries, and should be increased as quickly as possible”.
He also remarked on the imminent visit of the Turkish President, planned for the 4th of April this spring, aimed at further development of bilateral and regional cooperation, stating that, “the more we work on increasing our common aspects, the more we witness increasing level of interactions in the region”.
Mr. Yilmaz also stressed that, “we have to facilitate smoother trade for peoples of both nations through annual development of our bilateral relations”.
He referred to the finalization of all the agreements prepared for Erdogan’s visit, as the outcome of today and tomorrow’s meetings, commenting that, “it is our belief that as Dr. Rouhani’s visit to Turkey was a success, the Turkish President’s visit to Iran will also be a successful one”.
