The CEO of Infrastructure Communication Company: Unveiling Iran-Europe Communication Express Gateway

Iran-Europe Communication Express Gateway has been unveiled by Iran high ranking officials on May 26, 2013.


ICT Ministry Public Relations Department reported; Eng. Mahmoud Khosravi the CEO of Infrastructure Communication Company told this news and said: EPEG project has been started in the previous year with joint investment of 4 leading telecom carriers including Iran, Russia, Oman and Cable&Wireless Company and operated. Iran has had the most shares in this consortium and implemented the longest routs of EPEG.

The CEO of Infrastructure Communication Company mentioned that by implementing this project, one of the other infrastructures for making Iran the regional executive hub will be accomplished. He asserted that: as the result, the substitute route for hypersensitive communication transferring has been provided.

Khosravi pointed to the advantages of EPEG project for our country and asserted: earning money from communication transit between Iran and Europe is one of the advantages. Also employment in Communication fields, providing stability in communication more than before and reducing the costs are the other advantages we are following through this project.

Alongside this ceremony, also the 5000-km long optical fiber network which implemented by Iranian experts and considered as the backup rout of the mentioned gateway, has been unveiled. By operating this project, the routs which in them were no access to internet because of the lack of fiber optic will enjoy this technology too.

 Khosravi pointed that new facilities have been provided for internet voice call and stated: in this ceremony, also the new website through which the capacity of Internet call will increase by 400% unveiled by Iran high ranking officials.
