Iran CRA Organization’s Head: increasing ICT services share in gross domestic production

The share of earnings achieved by Postal, communication and Information Technology services in gross domestic production (GDP) rose to 2.12% on the year 1390.

Dr. Mohammad Ali Forghani, the Deputy of ICT Minister and the Head of Communication Regulatory Authority Organization in an interview with the news unit of ICT Ministry’s Public Relation Center with telling this number about ICT services’ share informed that based on available information and statistics, this number was 1.92% on the year 1389.Reviewing financial statements of licensed ICT and Postal Services presenters illustrates that the earnings achieved by these services were about 92,000 milliard IRR on the year 1389 which have increased to 113,000 milliard IRR on the year 1390.

The Deputy of Communication and Information Technology Minister talked about the share of each section in the achieved earnings from communication, Information Technology and Postal services and asserted that: the earnings share of Mobile phone networks was 76% on 1389 which has increased to 77.3% on the year 1390, although the cable telephone services’ share has been decreased from 22% to 19.5% in the same period.

Forghani also pointed to the Postal services’ share and declared that in this section the calculation has been performed based on the direct earnings achieved by communication, information Technology and postal services and the indirect effects and the earnings achieved by ICT production industries have not been measured. According to this issue, the share of data transferring services has been increased from 2 to 3.2% during this period and also we have had an increase in postal services (2.3% to 2.7%), he emphasized.
