According to the 5th Development Plan, it was arranged that all executive organizations are linked to Iran National Information Network and until now 77,000 links have been set up.
ICT Ministry Public Relations Department reported; Eng. Ali Hakim Javadi, the head of Iran Information Technology Organization with saying this news in the agreement signing ceremony for building up Public Libraries Dedicated Network which was between Iran Information Technology Organization, Telecommunication Company and Iran Public Libraries Foundation stated that according to the Iran 5th Development Plan, ICT Ministry is responsible for build up, develop and make use of National Information Network. In addition to the efforts made and linking various networks such as Customs, Tax, Health and etc. together, until today 44000 Iranian schools are connected to this network, he added. Public Libraries Dedicated Network is considered as one of the rich resources to produce and publish Islamic – Iranian information which by its building up, the link between other networks like National Schools Network and Iran Sciences Network will be set up and the applicants have an access to all Iranian available resources, Hakim Javadi asserted. He informed that network designing in architecture point of view is on shoulder of Iran Information Technology Organization and by finalizing Public Libraries Dedicated Network building up more than 2,800 points will link to National Information Network. He named use of maximum Iranian talents as ICT Ministry strategy in this move and emphasized that: accordingly, we are using available capacities of private sections such as Iran Telecommunication Company and PAP companies which without the cooperation of private sectors, especially Iran Telecommunication Company (ITC), reaching these goals are impossible, he continued. The Head of Iran Information Technology Organization stated that: we hope that we implementing and starting work of Public Libraries Dedicated Network in near future, we can bridge the gap between rich and poor. According to this report, Engineer Poor Ranjbar, the CEO of Iran Telecommunication Company, in this meeting said that Information cause transparency and justice making and asserted: the real information will end in science producing in a society. Also, Engineer Mansour Va’ezi the Secretary General of Iran Public Libraries Foundation mentioned that according the studies made, 70% of young and educated people are using virtual environment in order to access information and also studying. He said that also, content producing amount in virtual and computer environment such as related software production and etc. have been increased by 150% in Iran and this means that virtual environment plays a special role in different zone such as reading and like this.
