About 10 thousand ICT rural offices have been created in the country and it will be developed to 16 by the end of the fifth development plan.
PR of the Ministry of ICT- Dr. Reza Taghipour in the third congress of ICT rural services said:"e-government development is a task of tenth cabinet and ICT rural offices plays an important role to achieve this aim".
ICT Minister in the congress, was hold with regard to making opportunity and strengthen with rural ICT, said:"all efforts made to reduce the distances between the citizens and villagers facilities in the cabinet state travels".
"ICT rural offices have been created to realize the government four aims and it has ever played an important role", he continued.
Dr. Taghipour pointed to the observable development of ICT in the ninth and tenth government and said:" the number of the villages covered by communication, banking and data services has been developed from one thousand to 10 thousand during the fourth development plan".
"Now 35 thousand of villages benefits from home phone connection and it has been possible in the remote villages by satellite", he continued.
He announced that 3 thousand and 500 villages with 100 populations would be benefited from home phone communication by the end of the fifth development plan and said:" the tenth cabinet has focused to reduce the distances between the citizens and villagers facilities as the first e-government".
He said that a majority of villagers has been connected to high speed internet and said:" for example, all of the west Azerbaijan villagers have been connected to high speed data centers and we are able to prepare it through the country by considering the needs".
Minister of ICT pointed to 10 thousand ICT rural offices creation as a wonderful event and said:" the number of ICT rural offices has been developed from 900 to 10 thousand in less than 5 years and this is a symbol of justice and this experience can be offered to other countries".
