Iran was elected as vice-chairman of Study group-2 in ITU by vote of 142 ICT authority members.
PR of the Ministry of ICT – ITU-D sector’s goal is to prepare and enhance World Telecommunication Development by introducing and organizing technical cooperation and consultative activities.
This sector fulfills its activities by related Development Study Group Telecommunication Development Conferences and Telecommunication Development Consultative Group.
Therefore World-Regional TDC held every 4 years to study policy and decision making about the strategic plans.
Telecommunication Development Bureau is the executive arm of development sector which supports two study groups of analysis supports to develop communication in the relevant areas.
Study Group-2 is in contact with services and communicative networks development and management. One of its most important activities is making questions for ITU-T and ITU-R which related to developing countries specially.
This group informs developing countries systematically of work progress by the relevant reports to gather their participation for designated questions.
The other activities of Study Group-2 are to promote access to ICT in rural and far distance areas, study digital systems and technologies, study bandwidth communication in the existent systems regarding to technology specifications, system, usability and support of far distance communication usability in health care.
According to this report Iranian mission headed by deputy of the minister and chairman of the board of TIC, in WTDC-10, was elected as vice chairman of Study Group-2.
