The JAPAN PRIZE was established by NHK in 1965 as an international educational program contest; however, in order to respond to rapid changes in the media, including the introduction of digital broadcasting and the spread of the Internet, the JAPAN PRIZE evolved into the International Contest for Educational Media and expanded its target to a variety of audiovisual multimedia products with educational value in 2008. We expect that more and more audiovisual contents will be entered and will demonstrate educational effectiveness and abundant creativity.
Now it targets not only TV programs but also other linear contents, websites, educational games, and other interactive products with audiovisual media contents.
The Japan Prize 2010 has begun accepted entries from April 1 till July 31.
