Mid-pilot center of Digital Certificate Issuance will be implemented as the first center to offer e-services in the ministry of ICT.
PR of the Ministry of ICT_ Saeid Mahdiun, CEO of ITC in a news meeting reported the activities implemented during the last year and said: "Discussion about IT is highlighted in 10th government as if being the first e-government is the main aim and goal of it by developing IT and making swift the government".
In the middle of 2007 the duty change of the company was started and its statute approved in last March. In this statute in spite of changing application of the company, IT management, hard and soft ware section, monitoring the information integrity, and leading IT section were defined as the company's activities.
By referring to codify the fifth plan of IT by ITC, he said: "In this Cabinet all decided to offer e-services therefore 6 strategic areas have been considered including e-commerce, e-banking, e-healthy, e-government, IT infrastructure development, ICT strategic development plan (FAVA) security infrastructure, and Iranian-Islamic culture development".
"The Cabinet approved a work group named "ICT and Security management" to make unity between the cabinet, ITC and the ministry of ICT. It's including 138 and 127 article of the constitution and authorizes this work group in this field".
Saeid Mahdiun reported some statistics about Internet in Iran and said: "Internet situation currently is 32 Gbps and its users' penetration rate is 34 percent. Access time to high speed Internet is 8.1 week now".
CEO of ITC continued that to compute the speed and qualification of Internet 11 servers have been established now and 7 of them are located in CRA as the central server.
Signing cooperation MoU with Academic Jihad to product software to compute Internet speed into the country is the other program of ITC according to his report.
Mahdiun said: "This software has been designed regarding to domestic parameter and we hope to use it in the next year. Its third phase has been finished newly".
CEO of ITC emphasized on Internet users' rate computing formula and said: "To make a new formula, a corporation contract has been signed with one of domestic universities. By taking two opinion polls from the national specialists we hope that formula put the stop point on computing Internet users' rate discussion. Also 11 standards have been defined for evaluating IT standard which their official statistics will be displayed next year".
He pointed that the other company's program is to connect 100 thousands schools to the national Internet which its first phase has been finalized by connecting 20 thousands schools. We are selecting a contractor to make school connection to the national Internet and promote growth data center as the national plan of the ministry of Education and Training. Some of the schools have been equipped to e-learning facilities.
He reminded the other goal of this MoU and said: "It is to produce digital content for the schools that we have contracted for 51 school contents currently".
Mahdiun talked about ISPs' activities and said: "10 top ISPs will be introduced soon regarding to speed and qualification standards offered to the users".
CEO of ITC pointed to the other programs of the company such as signing an agreement with the governor of Bushehr to implement an e-government and e-portal which will be finalized soon, signing a MoU with the ministry of Jihad-e-Agriculture to connect 200 points of its centers to offer e-services, implementing Maher Center (Assisting Center in Information Exchanging Security Space).
He explained: "In the last year informing phase of Maher Center was implemented and then the phase of some services was executed early at the current year that prevented cyber attacks to the public sites after the presidency election. This center was able to do appropriate and coordinated efforts in that situation".
CEO of ITC continued: "Some anti-virus software have been activated into the country which is able to identify malware damage to the national Internet network. This has been implemented by helping some domestic universities to prevent the next cyber attacks".
