Great revolution to serve ICT services has been materialized by the experts and managers' efforts in this area after the revolution's victory.
PR of the Ministry of ICT – Seyed Mohammad Hosseinpour, Minister's advisor and general director of PR office said:" Many efforts have been done in the field of ICT by the managers and experts in this area after the glorious victory of Islamic Revolution and for huge goals that have been codified by Imam Khomeini in order to serve to the deprived of our community".
"Based on the available data, fixed telephone line has been increased 30 times and reached to 25 million numbers during the past 31 years, while transferring the fixed phone has been updated in all cities and many villages by the ninth government", he added.
He also pointed to the phone penetration rate which has been growing nearly 15 times and reached to more than 34 percent.
Minister's advisor pointed that serving to the villages and deprived areas in the field of ICT was the main program after the revolution victory and said: "The rural communication accelerated highly, especially in the past government and now about 54 thousand villages have been achieved to the communication".
"The home phone presented festival in all villages of many provinces such as Mazandaran, Isfahan and Shiraz hold last year", he continued.
Seyed Mohammad Hosseinpour restated that establishing more than 9600 rural ICT offices are considered as the other consequences in this area to achieve social justice and create e- government therefore Iran is one of the 5world top countries and owns strategic document in this field.
"Post, Post bank and Telecommunication services have been providing in the mentioned offices and about 10 millions of rural waste trips have been deleted only by post bank services", he continued.
General Director of PR office expressed the similar conditions of post and telecommunication areas and restated:" Delivering the postal packages has been reached from 75 millions of packages at the beginning of the revolution to more than one billions now so per capita letter for each Iranian has been increased from 2 to 14 packages".
"We have received new technologies and observed their rapid growth in our community during the past 31 years including mobile and Internet", he continued.
Seyed Mohammad Hosseinpour emphasized:" The first and second operators as well as Talia contractor are offering a wide variety of SIM Cards to the applicants now and according to the recent statistics nearly 46 millions of credit and permanent SIM cards are utilized by the users and the penetration rate of mobile phone has been increased to more than 53 percent".
"Therefore we have gained the first level in the Middle East and 11 in the world ", he added.
The other consequences of the revolution are: coverage of all cities, more than 40 thousand Kms of roads and 35 thousand villages by mobile network.
General Director of PR office by referring to the worthwhile consequences obtained in Internet area said:" Creating more than 105 STM1 links is one of them through that national Internet capacity has been reached to more than 30 thousand Mbps".
"The number of Internet users has been reached to more than 23 million people and about 35 percent of the penetration rate has been achieved through that".
Minister's advisor described the unique consequences in space area and added:" Launching the first domestic satellite named "Omid" by domestic rocket is considered as the other consequences in the field of ICT".
"Mesbah II satellite, the science and industry Navid and Tolloe I, has been unveiled at the same time of thirty first anniversary of the revolution victory", he continued.
He emphasized that a vital consignment has been sent to the space by Kavoshgar III for the first time.
