Mr. Eng. Azari Jahromi, the Iranian Minister for Communication and Information Technology, presently in Busan, Republic of Korea, to participate in ITU Telecom 2017, has met and discussed issues of mutual interest with the Communication Minister of South Africa, especially in regard to the development of bilateral cooperation between the two countries.
The ITC Public Relations department reports that, in this meeting, the parties stressed on increasing the existing level of cooperation and trade exchange between the two countries in the ICT area, aiming to double its current volume.
During this negotiation, agreements were also made in regard with development of investment in communication sector, joint research efforts in regard to LEO satellites, e-Commerce, e-Government, Cyber Security, and Postal Services Logistics, which will strengthen the existing cooperation level.
The South African Communication Minister referred to Iran’s achievements in IT research area, asking for expanding joint participation of the two countries in this sector.
