On the sidelines of the meeting of the Joint Commission on Economic Cooperation of the Islamic Republic of Iran and Azerbaijan, at a meeting of Minister of Communications and Information Technology with the Head of Central Bank and the Minister of Economy of Azerbaijan, the two sides discussed in detail the issue.
According to the Center for Public Relations and Information of the Ministry of Communications and Information Technology, today morning, a meeting was held attended by Elmar Rustamov, head of central bank and Minister economy of Azerbaijan as the head of the Joint Commission of two countries, and the two sides discussed in detail this issue.
Doctor Vaezi, in the meeting, referring to the expansion of bilateral relations of the two countries in all fields, especially trade, said: to achieve the desired volume of commercial relations, it is necessary that banking relations of the tow countries in order to provide the necessary facilities to the businessmen of the two countries should be created.
He emphasized the need to establish a brokerage relationship between banks on both sides and announced the readiness of Iranian banks to establish branches in Azerbaijan.
Economy Ministerof Azarbayjan, Shahin Mustafayev, in this meeting, announced his country's willing to develop all-round relations and said: Azerbaijan Republic intends to expand cooperation in banking areas to provide and facilitate business affairs.
President of the Central Bank of Azerbaijan, Elmar Rustamov, explained his country's economic and monetary situation and said: one of the ways to develop bilateral trade relations between the two countries is the use of the national currency of two countries which reduces the parties dependency on foreign currency and is a serous issue in the negotiations between the two countries. Azerbaijani side also presented a report of the changes in the banking system of Azerbaijan and creating a room to monitor finance and banking affairs to advance banking topics interested by the countries and said: by reforming the banking system, the relations between the two countries will be promoted more.
