Dr. Vaezi held a meeting with the Algerian Minister of Communications, on the sideline of the WSIS 2016 forum in Geneva, Switzerland.
The Communication Ministry’s Public Relation reports that in this meeting, the ICT Minister highlighted the topic of world internet governance, expressing that: “Some of the member states at the forum raised the issue of handing over the governance of internet to the private sector, whereas we believe that it should remain at the disposal of the governments.”
Vaezi referred to the excellent political relations between Iran and Algeria, saying that: “We expect the bilateral relations between Iran and Algeria to expand at all levels and areas, including communication and information technology sector.”
He included: “Our common historical and cultural background can create the perfect environment for our technical experts and specialists to share their knowledge and expertise.”
The Iranian Communication Minister referred to some of the capacities of the I.R. of Iran, stating that: “Iran is prepared to cooperate and share experiences with our brother and friendly nation of Algeria, especially in IT and ICT field.”
At his meeting, the Minister of Communication of Algeria also announced the preparedness of his country to further develop relations with Iran in the ICT sector.
