Vietnam’s Communication Minister Talks Increasing Cooperation
The Minister of Communication and Information Technology, in meeting with his Vietnamese counterpart, referred to the expansion of bilateral cooperation between the two countries, expressing that: “We had extensive talks for further developing bilateral cooperation in various areas of ICT, and we expect to witness increasing collaboration in the future.”

According to the Ministry’s PR department, Nguyễn Bắc Son, the Vietnamese Minister of Information and Communications, had a meeting with Dr. Vaezi, and discussed the development of relations in ICT sector between Iran and Vietnam.

In this meeting, Dr. Vaezi stated that: “We discussed areas for developing relations, and we covered about 10 topics such as software, e-government, internet and cyber security, exchanging ICT experts, joint postal cooperation, e-commerce, space and satellite collaborations, cooperation in international conventions, private sector investment in Iran and Vietnam, and hopefully we shall witness growth and development in all these areas in future.”

The ICT Minister went on to say: “Experts were designated in these areas to study the topics and cooperate in drafting of an M.O.U to be signed in this regard.”

Dr. Vaezi emphasized that: “Both countries have carried out extensive efforts in the areas of Internet, research and development, space activities, and post services; and we expect to reach a 5-year agreement in future regarding joint areas of cooperation with Vietnam.”

Nguyễn Bắc Son, the Vietnamese Minister of Information and Communications, expressed his expectation for increasing cooperation levels with Iran, stating that: “I am very glad to have the opportunity to meet and negotiate with my Iranian counterpart, and I wish that such meetings shall result in cooperation in the fields of Internet, cyber security, and other topics of mutual interest.”

He included that: “We have to come to agreement on a course of action to allow Iranian and Vietnamese companies to have the opportunity to be present and invest in each other’s countries; Iran has been very supportive of us since the Vietnam War and hopefully your country will continue this relationship with us in future.”
