The Minister of Information and Communications Technology Seyed Sattar Hashemi unveiled on Friday the stamp to commemorate the pilgrims’ march of Arbaeen procession in the city of Karbala, Iraq.
The commemorative stamp was showcased in a ceremony attended
by the ICT minister and senior officials of the Iranian and Iraqi post
companies at the Consulate General of Iran in Karbala.
The stamp portrays the multi-million-strong pilgrimage of the
devotees of Imam Hussein (PBUH) bearing he phrase "Hubb al-Hussain
Yajma'una" (Love for Hussein Unites Us) as a symbol of unity, solidarity,
and cohesion among Muslims.
Hashemi who is visiting neighboring Iraq to inspect
communications preparations of the march said the stamp was symbol of the
profound cultural, historical, and spiritual ties between Iran and Iraq.
He stressed expanding bilateral postal cooperation between
the two countries.
“Arbaeen is the world's largest annual gathering of the
faithful and demonstrates the solidarity and unity of Muslim nations,” he added.
“The dedicated Arbaeen stamp can help preserve the legacy of
this major cultural and spiritual event and introduce it more widely to the
world,” the ICT minister noted.
