Minister launches 78 ICT projects in Ilam Province
A total of 78 projects were inaugurated on Wednesday in the western province of Ilam, marking the conclusion of Information and Communications Minister Seyed Sattar Hashemi's visit.

The projects, with a total investment of US$5.9 million, were launched during a meeting of the Ilam Provincial Council attended by the governor general and other local officials.

They have been implemented to expand communications infrastructure, improve service quality, enhance network stability, extend rural connectivity, expand fiber-optic networks, and strengthen mobile coverage across different parts of the province.

The inauguration of the projects marks a significant step towards expanding Ilam Province's communications infrastructure, improving service quality, increasing communications coverage, extending fiber-optic networks, strengthening network resilience, and advancing the Government’s objective of balanced regional development.

The ICT Minister is also scheduled to visit Mehran Terminal at Iran-Iraq border, the most important transit point for Arbaeen pilgrims in Ilam Province.

It is intended to inspect the status of communication services, the coverage of telecommunication networks, and the readiness of operators to provide services to the pilgrims during the mourning procession.

On Tuesday, Hashemi inaugurated 206 ICT projects in the neighboring Kermanshah Province with a combined investment value of US$152 million.

He held a meeting with stakeholders, business elites, and knowledge-based companies in the field of ICT at the Governor General’s Office in provincial capital Kermanshah.

The two-day tour focuses on strengthening the readiness of communication networks to serve Arbaeen pilgrims, improving the quality of communications in the two border provinces, field surveying development projects, and inaugurating 284 communication projects.
