The Minister of Information and Communications Technology Seyed Sattar Hashemi inaugurated 206 ICT projects in Kermanshah Province with a combined investment value of US dollars 152 million.
They were unveiled on Tuesday at a meeting attended by the
Governor General and provincial officials at the conclusion of the visit by
the ICT Minister to the western province.
The projects are aimed at expanding communications
infrastructure, improving service quality, enhancing network resilience,
extending rural connectivity, expanding fiber-optic networks, and strengthening
mobile coverage across the province.
Their completion marks a significant step towards
strengthening Kermanshah Province's communications infrastructure, improving
service quality, expanding communications coverage, accelerating fiber-optic
deployment, and enhancing network resilience.
The projects advance the Government's objectives of
communications equity and balanced regional development.
Earlier, Hashemi held a meeting with stakeholders, business
elites, and knowledge-based companies in the field of ICT at the Governor
General’s Office.
On Wednesday, the ICT Minister will visit Mehran Terminal at
Iran-Iraq border, the most important transit point for Arbaeen march pilgrims in Ilam Province.
He is scheduled to inspect the status of communication
services, the coverage of telecommunication networks, and the readiness of
operators to provide services to pilgrims.
Hashemi will participate in the Administrative Council of
Ilam Province, focusing on Arbaeen mourning procession, and will also inaugurate 78 communication
projects in the province.
Reviewing the latest communication status of the province,
the development process of communication infrastructure, and programs to
improve the quality of services in different regions of the province are among
the topics on the agenda of the meeting.
The two-day tour focuses on strengthening the readiness of
communication networks to serve Arbaeen pilgrims, improving the quality of
communications in the two border provinces, field surveying development
projects, and inaugurating 284 communication projects -- 206 projects in
Kermanshah Province and 78 projects in Ilam Province.
