The Minister of Information and Communications Technology Seyed Sattar Hashemi has praised the performance of the Iran’s National Post Company during the Israeli-US imposed war, urging digital transformation in the postal services.
Hashemi made the statement in a meeting during his visit to
the National Post Company on Saturday in which he also conveyed the message of
appreciation of President Masoud Pezeshkian to the company’s employees.
The ICT Minister reiterated continuing structural
transformation, improving cybersecurity, increasing the welfare of employees,
and expanding the role of the private sector in the development of postal
services.
“The company’s decision-making team has played an effective
role in securing the recent achievements,” he added, “Feedback proves the satisfactory
performance of the National Post Company.”
Referring to the results of surveys, Hashemi stated: The
level of people's approval of postal services is favorable. It is required to continue
the current trend by strengthening directors’ coordination.
Cybersecurity, E-Gov’t services
The Minster also stressed the expansion postal services by
executive agencies saying, “Increasing the role of the Post Company in the
government service chain requires improving resilience and strengthening
security measures against cyberattacks.”
He instructed the company’s directors to expedite launching of
a new national postal exchange center as a requirement for the infrastructure
development in the company’s march towards digital transformation and use of
new technologies.
Staff welfare, human capital
Hashemi said that paying attention to the livelihood of
employees and their families is one of the priorities of the ICT Ministry which
shall be pursued simultaneously with increasing productivity.
He emphasized the contact with the experts, paying special
attention to the families of the martyrs, and utilizing the capacity of
veterans, and added: In addition to organizational duties, these are valuable
assets for advancing the grand objectives of the National Post Company.
Regulation, reform in postal sector
The ICT Minister further reiterated using the modern technologies
to streamline the company's structure.
“Avoiding expansion of the organizational body and developing
cooperation with the private sector are among the main policies of the ICT
Ministry.”
He concluded by stressing the significance of reviewing the
regulatory body of the postal sector.
“Reform in regulations is essential to meet the country's new
needs,” Hashemi stated, “It is also crucial to finalize the statute of the
National Postal Company.
