Iran’s Minister Information and Communication Technology Seyed Sattar Hashemi on Saturday stressed significance of the ministry’s public relations departments in bringing the people closer together.
“Similar to the ICT Ministry’s
mission in connecting the people, the public relations offices are able to
bring people and the ministry’s users closer to together,” he said at the First
Festival of PR Departments of ICT Ministry.
Hashemi urged the PR departments to
employ modern techniques of the public relations to publicize the ministry’s
plans and services and to contribute to wider participation of the private
sector in its projects.
He termed the nation-wide infrastructure
project to convert the copper cables to optical fibers as a landmark
transformation in the country’s telecommunications history which can be better
introduced by the PR departments.
He concluded by stressing the role of
effective public relations through professional production of narrations, use
of advanced telecommunication technology, as well as feedback assessment from
the users.
The minister praised the services of
the best public relations offices of the ICT Ministry and awarded them with appreciation
letters and Iranian handicrafts.
Prior to his speech, professors of
communication and journalism and chairman of the Government Information Council
hailed the ICT Ministry’s operation in the last year under management of Dr.
Alireza Abdollahinejad.
The event continued by workshop
panels in the afternoon sessions during which the PR directors of the ministry
were briefed on the latest techniques and issues in their field.
