Swedish Commercial Office to Commence Operations in Tehran
The Minister of Communication and Information Technology, in his meeting with Mikael Dumberg, the Swedish Minister of Investment and Innovation, emphasized on expanding cooperation in various sectors including education, research and development, stating that: “The Swedish Trade Office in Iran is going to become operational by the next month.”

The ICT PR department reports that in this meeting, Dr. Vaezi referred to the long history of Iran-Sweden relations, saying: “Both countries have extensive bilateral relationship in various sectors especially industrial sectors, and God-wiling, the cooperation will go on in various fields.”

Referring to Dr. Rouhani’s meeting with the Swedish Prime Minister in UN HQ in New York, he included: “At that meeting, the parties agreed that the bilateral relations of Iran and Sweden, especially in economic and industrial areas, should be further developed and expanded.”

The ICT Minister underscored the presence of the high-ranking Swedish delegation in accordance with that agreement, expressing hopefulness that during this visit, good opportunities will arise for further development of bilateral relations in various aspects.”

He expressed that: “The active presence of public and private sectors of both countries show firm determination of both parties in developing relations, especially in ICT sector.”

Dr. Vaezi reminded that: “During the sanctions period, Sweden remained in Iran and continued its cooperation, and it is apparent that we are going to have good cooperation with Sweden in ICT sector.”

Dr. Vaezi referred to the good experience of Sweden regarding e-governance, expressing hope that cooperation can expand in ICT field, especially through these good experiences in e-governance.

He also mentioned the positive implications of various sectors, such as the Export Development and Guarantee Agency and the banking representatives present in Swedish delegation, including that: “If the negotiations also include finance proposals and credit lines, the next stages can be accelerated.”

Stating that Ericsson is a Swedish Company which has a long history of working and cooperating in Iran, Vaezi concluded that: “Ericsson Company has started good negotiations with Iranian mobile network operators and Highweb.”
