During International Telecommunication Union (ITU) Radiocommunication Assembly 2015, representatives of the Islamic Republic of Iran managed to obtain three management positions in study groups, by unanimous vote of all member states.
According to Public Relation Center of ICT Ministry, in this assembly, held from 26-30 October 2015 in Geneva, Switzerland, colleagues from the Communication Regulatory Agency (CRA) were chosen for study groups; Mr. Alireza Darvishi as the deputy of the Satellite Communication Study Group, and Taghi Shafeea as the deputy of the Conference Preparatory Meeting for World Radiocommunication Conference 2019.
Also, Amir Hossein Nafez, from the IRIB, was chosen as the deputy for Audio-Visual Broadcasting Study Group from 2016 to 2019.
The Radio Communication Assembly is in charge of approving the ITU-R Study Groups agendas, arranging the required structures for implementing tasks, defining priorities, and implementing and completing the study groups researches.
Based on PR’s report, other tasks of the Radio Communication Assembly include approving ITU-R proposals regarding technical specifications of the systems and utilization conditions, approving technical studies, and assigning the session agendas of World Radiocommunication Conferences (WRC).
