Iran-Iraq Cooperate to Vindicate Their Rights in International Associations
The Iranian Minister for Communication and Information Technology, in continuation of his visit to Iraq, met with Salim Al-Jabouri, Speaker of Iraqi Parliament, emphasizing on the cooperation of Iran and Iraq for vindicating their rights in international circles and associations.

The ICT’s Public Relations reports that in this meeting, Dr. Vaezi referred to the close cooperation of the parliaments of both countries, emphasizing on the role of parliaments of Iran and Iraq in advancement of the desired objectives.

He highlighted the necessity of increasing interaction between the parliaments of both nations and added that: “Development of the bilateral relations of both countries has shown a positive direction in all areas and is in alignment with the policies of the speakers of both parliaments.”

Vaezi referred to the problems caused for Iraq because of terrorism and its negative and destructive consequences for Iraqi society, and expressed hope that: “The policies of the Islamic Republic of Iran are focused on supporting the government and people of Iraq, and Iran is going to make its very best efforts to fight Takfiri and ISIS terrorism until the total annihilation of this infectious tumor from friendly nations and the return of stability, security and the establishment of total sovereignty of the country of Iraq, through taking all necessary measures.”

In this meeting, the Iranian ICT Minister underscored the importance and necessity of economic and infrastructural cooperation and exchange of experiences between two countries in the current state of affairs, saying that: “The Islamic Republic of Iran, from the onset of Iraq’s independence, has generously provided all its facilities and services within this framework, and fortunately, considerable joint projects have already been accomplished in Iraq.”

Vaezi expressed that: “Without any doubt, the role of the fields of ICT, Telecommunications, and Post in economic development of both countries has been decisive and exceptional.”

In continuation of this meeting, while presenting a report of the outcomes and achievements of this visit for the officials of the Communication Ministry of Iraq, Vaezi asked for the support and backing of the Speaker of Iraqi Parliament for these agreements.

Vaezi asserted that: “It is necessary for both countries to cooperate closely for vindication of their rights in international associations.”

Dr. Vaezi also presented the official invitation of the Speaker of the Islamic Parliament of Iran for attending the Asian Inter-Parliamentary Speakers Conference to be held in Tehran next month.

In continuation, Salim Al-Jabouri also expressed pleasure for the growth and development of bilateral relations and its positive effects on Iraq’s society, saying: “We welcome the development of bilateral ties between our countries and the investment of I.R. of Iran in Iraq.”

He commended the role and support of Iran during the difficult and painful era forced upon the country and people of Iraq, expressing gratitude for security supports, in addition to other aspects of cooperation resulting in advancement of relations.

The Iraqi Parliament’s Speaker also referred to the brotherly and sincere relations with his Iranian counterpart, saying: “We shall pursue our negotiations within the framework of parliamentary cooperation.”
