The Iranian Minister of Information and Communication Technology Seyed Sattar Hashemi on Monday congratulated the employees of the ministry and Iranian Christians on the occasion of the birthday anniversary of Jesus Christ (PBUH) and the New Year.
In a message, he expressed the hope that peace and tranquility
will be established and sustained in the world in 2025.
“I extend my felicitations and best wishes on the auspicious
birthday anniversary of Jesus Christ (PBUH), the prophet of peace and reconciliation
as well as on the advent of the New Year to my noble and patriotic Christian
compatriots, especially the dear Christian employees of the Ministry of Information
and Communication Technology, and its affiliated organizations and companies.”
Iran is an Islamic country and the majority of its
population is Muslim. Christians, Jews
and Zoroastrians are free to practice their faith in Iran. As minorities, they
are represented in the parliament and have their religious centers across the
country.
Hashemi added the birth of Jesus Christ (PBUH) reminds the
world that humans must live by the noble values of kindness, peace, and
altruism.
“Once again, congratulating you on these auspicious days, I implore
Almighty God for the happiness and well-being of the followers of Jesus Christ
(PBUH) and health and peace for the Christian employees of the Ministry of Information
and Communication Technology, its affiliated organizations and companies, the
great family of communications, and all dear Christians in Iran and the
monotheists around the world,” read the message.
The minister hoped that under the teachings of the divine
prophets, peace, tranquility, and philanthropy will be established and sustained
in every corner of planet in 2025.
Iran marks its New Year or Noruz on March 21 with arrival of
spring based on an ancient solar calendar which dates back to the migration of
Holy Prophet Mohammad in early days of Islam.
