During the 2016 Extraordinary EMS General Assembly in Istanbul, the Express Mail Service (EMS) Cooperative’s 2015 Bronze Performance Award was presented to Iran Post Company for its achievements in 2015.
According to ICT Public Relations, in this session which was held on September 20th in Istanbul, Iranian Post Company managed to win the Bronze EMS Performance Award of for adhering to the designated EMS cooperative standards in 2015. The award recipient was Mr. Eng. Mehri, Chairman and Managing Director of Iran Post Co.
Universal Postal Union (UPU) Director General, in his meeting with the Iranian delegation attending this session, expressed that: “Iranian Post Company has a considerable role in development of postal services at national and international levels.”
He also expressed his satisfaction over the recent developments in our country, stating UPU’s support for ever-increasing growth and development of postal services, especially financial post services.
Mr. Mehri also expressed his appreciation for the Director General’s efforts during the last four years in advancement of the global objectives of UPU, hoping for: “The continuation of this trend for the benefit of all countries in the coming years.”
The Managing Director of Iran Post referred to the role of local customs offices in decreasing the transit period of parcels and packages, requesting the assistance of UPU, as a specialized UN body, to enter practical and operational discussions and negotiations with World Customs Organization.
Mehri also mentioned Iran’s hosting of 2017 Asia-Oceania UPU Congress, expressing that: “I will do my outmost for excellent hosting of this event in Tehran.”
He also invited UPU Director General to attend this congress.
UPU Director General also welcomed this invitation, promising the complete cooperation of the Union’s international office in the excellent hosting of this event.
It should be mentioned that in addition to Iran, Canada, Portugal, and Moldova also won Bronze Awards.
Iran Post Co. had managed to win a Level 2 Management Certificate and two Silver Awards for service quality from the UPU.
